Whitbys.org is a curiosity-first public notebook created and maintained by me, Suzanne Whitby.
I’ve long used notebooks to capture things that stir surprise, delight, irritation, wonder, or those small “huh, I’d like to know more about that” moments. I still do.
However, with my work, I spend so much (probably too much!) time online. I come across so many fascinating snippets of information that I don’t always have time to research, but don’t want to forget. It’s not possible to document them all in a written notebook, so I decided to create this online space to capture and map whatever I think is worthwhile.
Think of this as a Suzanne-shaped human filter for the internet. It’s a shared commonplace book made up of fragments worth remembering. Footprints of where I’ve wandered, and fingerprints on things that caught my attention, however fleetingly, and to which I may (or may not!) return later.
I keep my comments short and sweet, mostly to provide a little context or my reason for sharing something.
If it’s useful to you, wonderful!
If you want to reach out or connect, you can reach me at sw@whitbys.org or you can sign up to my weekly-ish newsletter, “7, plus or minus 2” where I summarise a selection of things that have stayed with me. Sort of a “curation of a curation” for those short on time.
